Bromo more or less is a Mecca for photographers in Indonesia except for me, I have been to Bromo when I was around 15 years old and yet I wasn't taking pictures as serious at this moment. I was in Malang through out October 2009 and I was invited by some friends to join them to go to Bromo.
We took off from Malang at 0200 hours, we were riding scooters and there many of us joined this trip. At 0345 hours we arrived at the rest area around Tengger where we refuel our scooters. The plan was to take some sunrise shots but unfortunately we weren't that lucky because we had to stop and fix the problems with two of our scooters at the rest area.
The journey gets rough when we have to cross the dessert sand of Bromo by our scooters, we had to make few stops to cool down the clutch in order not to get burnt. We finally hit the road back to go home at 1030 hours and made 2 stops.
It was one tough ride to get a decent speed and also to control a 110cc scooters on the dessert sand, overall it was one hell of experience.
